Fibre is the latest broadband technology, that supports a range of heavy online activities on multiple devices, HD streaming and large files downloads/uploads in particular.
Fibre is connected from the street to the small box on the outside of your house by Chorus who than installs an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) on the wall inside the house, where the router is plugged into.
ADSL and VDSL Broadband is delivered over your copper phone line. The router is plugged into the small box inside your house. ADSL speed is up to 20Mbps and VDSL speed is up to 70 Mbps. Speeds vary based on your distance from the exchange, your plan and the quality of your premise wiring.

Installation Price
A Standard contract-less ADSL, VDSL or Fibre installation is $180*. This includes a Router, and allowance for our technician to come and set the equipment up.
If a Chorus technician is required to do additional premises wiring because of poor existing wiring, there may be an additional cost of approximately $300 (GST inc). They will discuss this before proceeding.
